Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.
- Max Lucado
I love this quote! Prayer is not about incredible words. It is not about impressive tone. It is not about moving oratory.
Prayer is about humble hearts yielded to the Master. It is about acknowledging our inadequacy and trusting His ability. Prayer is, in faith, knowing He hears, He cares, and He will move on our requests. Prayer is confidently talking to the Father, knowing He is there with and for us!
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:16
I hope that you will integrate talking with God into your daily life! Engage the power of prayer by engaging the One who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or imagine!
There are several opportunities to engage in prayer at Shandon:
- Each Saturday morning at 8am, in the Lobby. The Jonah fountain doors are opened for church members to meet and pray for our church. It is a sweet time of prayer and an awesome way to start your weekend. Consider coming any Saturday that you’re in town.
- Prayer and Praise service, Wednesday, November 20 at 6pm. Join in the Worship Center for a time of worship and prayer. You can pray by yourself, with someone, or have someone pray over you. These times have been so precious to all who attend.
- The Prayer Room. It is open and available 24/7. There are a few hour-long slots available where you can come and pray for the needs of church members and visitors. Please contact Ashley Bowers at to inquire about openings.
Prayer… engaging the Almighty in our lives. It is my prayer that this will be a regular part of all our lives!
