Orphan Care is a developing ministry area at Shandon, and we’re excited to let you know about a free upcoming event where you can learn how to help children in need.

Fostering Hope is a statewide event series designed to find more families for children in foster care. Hosted by the community for the community, it’s an inspiring evening where families come together across denominations in the Christian community to do something about the foster care crisis.

According to Care2Foster.org, there are 660 children in foster care in Columbia and only 421 foster families. That means 239 more foster families are needed in Columbia today so that every child can live with a family.

Fostering Hope comes to Columbia International University on Tuesday, May 7 at 6pm. CLICK HERE to register, then spread the word! The evening is filled with testimonies from children and families who’ve experienced life-changing transformations because of involvement in the foster care system. Childcare and refreshments will be provided.

Not everyone can foster, but everyone can do something. Email and ask about additional opportunities to get involved in Orphan Care.
