February’s Live Sent emphasis is coming to a close, but the ongoing call to Live Sent has just begun! We are thrilled and humbled to see how God is working in the life of our church, and continue to pray that He will break hearts for lost souls and send forth laborers for the harvest.
Join us for Bible Study tomorrow at 5:55pm in the Chapel to hear Jon Jamison, Compassion Ministries Strategist for the South Carolina Baptist Convention, talk about how SCBC programs can help churches fulfill the Great Commission.
We’ll be following up with everyone who submitted a Live Sent Connection Card on Sunday. In the meantime, here are a few ways to explore your next step:
- Online: Shandon.org/Missions
Our website is one of the best ways to learn how to Live Sent at Shandon: To the City, To North America, and To the World. Each category includes interest forms with specific opportunities that connect you directly with the Strategy Leader for that location or ministry focus area.
- eNews: Every Tuesday
If you don’t subscribe to Shandon’s weekly email, CLICK HERE to sign up! We regularly feature upcoming mission trips, interest meetings, special events, trainings and more — including blog posts, photos and videos to help share the impact of Shandon members living on mission.
- Missions Next Steps Kiosk: Sundays in the Gathering Place
This information hub is located on the right side of the Gathering Place as you’re facing the Worship Center. You’ll find the latest announcements as well as materials like our Live Sent Magazine, prayer guides, and handouts from various partners or organizations. Join the Mobilization Team to help answer questions on Sundays!
- Spend Time in the Prayer Room
There’s limited availability in our prayer room, and that’s good news! With the help of a missionary care volunteer, we’re doing a much better job at keeping prayer requests and praises up to date. Look for our Missions poster as well! Email Ashley Bowers at to ask what time slots are still available.
Questions in the meantime? Interested in a leadership role? Called to mid-term, long-term or career missions? As Shandon’s new Mobilization Director, I’m here to help. Email me at , Call (803) 782-1300 x.165, or meet me in the Missions Next Steps area on Sundays!
