God’s global mission requires laborers to move overseas with the aim of reaching the nations with the gospel. At Shandon, we pray that God will send our members to fulfill this need. There are a couple of ways that you can explore your desire to move overseas.
Global Missions Cohort exists to equip future missionaries for endurance sowing the gospel among the nations. We meet once a month after the second service for lunch and a topical mission discussion.
If you are interested in committing two or more years to an overseas assignment, please contact us so we can equip you to make disciples overseas.
In 3 John 1:6-8, John speaks about sending missionaries in a manner worthy of God. We define how we send with the term “missionary care.” Participating in our missionary care strategy is one way that you can advance the global mission here at home.
Sending missionaries to the nations requires training them for the difficult task ahead. Join us in this training by helping with our monthly Global Missions Cohorts.
You replicate what you celebrate, which is why we want to celebrate our missionaries being commissioned from Shandon. Join us in sending them in this worthy manner by helping with our sending celebrations.
We believe that our church must “hold the rope” for missionaries while they serve where God has taken them. Join us in supporting missionaries through being on a support team or sending them a care package.
When a missionary returns back to the US, they have experienced God in many unique ways. As we receive them, we want to help them reassimilate back into the body of Shandon and into life in Columbia. Join us by being part of a receiving team or helping host a return party.
Our primary goal in accomplishing the global mission is to send long-term missionaries to plant churches among the nations. Please join us in prayer and support for these brothers and sisters whom Shandon has sent out.
